The Complete Routine: Morning, Weekly, and Travel

Morning (2 minutes)

Two to four drops of Haitian Castor Oil, warmed between your palms. Work it through the beard first, then run whatever's left through your scalp and hairline. That's the whole morning routine. Don't overthink it.

2–3x a week

A pass with a boar bristle brush after the oil has had a minute to sit — this distributes it evenly instead of leaving it sitting on the surface of coarser hairs, and helps train the direction of both beard and scalp hair so it lies the way you want it to.

Weekly

If you're building out the kit: a wide-tooth sandalwood comb works best on damp, oiled hair — detangles without the breakage a plastic comb causes. This is also a good moment to check in on your beard shape before it gets away from you.

Travel

The routine doesn't need to pause because you're not home. A compact Dopp kit built for actual daily use — not just for looking good in a drawer — keeps the same oil, comb, and brush with you wherever you go.

What we left out on purpose

No 8-step routine. No serums layered on serums. The reason most grooming routines don't survive a busy week is that they have too many steps to remember. This one has three, and all three take less time than making coffee.
